These medications are used primarily to treat type 2 diabetes and obesity. They are injectable medications that belong to a class of drugs called GLP-1 receptor agonists. The weekly at-home injections work by promoting feelings of fullness, which can help lower blood sugar levels in people with diabetes and aid in weight loss for individuals with obesity.
